During pregnancy a women should take special care of whatever food she intakes. Generally it is advisable to take natural food during pregnancy. There are certain category of foods that must be avoided which can harm the baby or can lead to miscarriage.

Unwashed vegetables and fruits : All food products must be washed thoroughly before consumption. These foods may contain bacteria and germs that can impact you during pregnancy.
Unpasteurised food : Dairy products that are not properly pasteurised must be avoided as they can cause food borne diseases.
Sea food : Sea foods are good source of Omega3 beneficial for the baby. Sea foods containing high mercury should be avoided like shark, king mackerel, crabs, prawns and salmon. Such food can damage the baby’s brain.
Undercooked food : It is important to cook food for consumption during pregnancy. Consumption of raw or undercooked food should be avoided. Well cooked food should be consumed to avoid cross contamination.
Caffeine, Tea, Alcohol : Consumption of caffeine, alcohol,tea should be completely avoided during pregnancy to prevent birth defects and complications.
